Creating Waves

Otherwise known as inside curve filing. To file an inside curve, you will need your file with a half rounded face. Allow the file to roll from side to side as it is pushed forward. This not only keeps the contour of the curve, but also prevents cutting irregular flat spots in the edge of the wax.

Start slow, almost creating your markings for where you wish to file. Do this all the way around the band. Once you make a nice visual outline for yourself, go deeper and wider.

Once you finish with the inside curve filing and you are happy with the concave parts, you can turn the file back around to the flat side and round it out using the outside curve filing technique that we demonstrate in our “rounding the sides” video.
