How it works

Order and Create.

Once you receive your kit, we welcome you to get as creative with your piece as you would like with your Root Stacker, using the art of lost wax carving. We offer a few guides on the wax carving techniques to help you, as well as a 15 minute complimentary consultation with the Seelye team that comes with a kit purchase.

Send back.

Once you finish carving, simply place your wax back in the safety box, fill out your return form, purchase any add-ons you would like to make to your ring, and use the return label provided to send back to us!

You have the option to either keep your kit and all the contents inside for future ring carving, or return the carving tools in the return envelope for a $15 refund.

Let Seelye do the rest.

The Seelye team will get working on any design notes, add-ons, sizing and metal casting once the wax carving is returned. We do our best to work with you, hand in hand, to ensure your pieces turn out exactly how you envision.

Our post production services take 4-6 weeks. Once complete, we will mail your piece back, to love and cherish along your journey.

At Seelye, we believe that jewelry is so much more than a piece of metal we wear on our bodies. There are memories, lessons, and stories intimately wrapped within. It is our armor.

Your jewelry collection is unique and it is yours.

We believe this process is about taking the time to connect with yourself and your community through creativity. The result is a forever token to take with you on your journey, and eventually pass down to the next generation.

Our Belief.

FAQ

  • Our Seelye Root Stackers are very simple bands that are at the core of our workshops and kits. They are thin rings meant to be stacked and built upon. With each ring carved, new designs and memories are created. Although the Root Stackers are ever evolving, we hope they offer a daily reminder when worn that you are safe to create, connect, and simply be, as you go forth on your journey.

  • Lost wax carving and casting is a 6,000 year old tradition, allowing you to create with your hands and to utilize gifts from Mother Nature, to put something into the world that has the opportunity to last for generations to come.

It is the act of carving your piece of jewelry out of wax, followed by melting down metal and pouring it into the space where the wax once held…creating a perfect replica of your piece.

With our workshops and kits, you do the carving and we do the metal casting in post production services.

  • Each kit includes a ring sizer. All final sizing is done in post production services by the Seelye Team.

We take a bit of wax from the inside of the band to help size correct and make more wearable.

  • Within the puchase section of our kits, you will find all of the adds-ons available, including sold 14ky gold castings and ethically sourced stones.

Feel free to email us at hello@seelyedesigns.com with any questions.

  • Once you select your stones, you will note the placement and design in the sketches and notes. The Seelye team handles all the stone setting and final placements in post production services.

  • Yes! We can take your repurposed stones to add onto your creation, on a case by case basis. Please send us a note or schedule a 15 minute design consultation with the Seelye team, where we will price and advise on the possibilities.

  • You have two options…

Save it! We offer additional wax carvings for you to continue your collection of handmade pieces.

    OR

Return the carving tools back in the return envelope with your wax carving to receive $15 back on your card. Keep the candle and block for yourself.

Insider tip - the blocks can be used for a fun painting activity!

  • Our mission is to not only encourage the creative ability that is innately within us all, but to offer a unique bridge between the client and the designer.

Anything you do not achieve can be noted in your sketches and design notes and the Seelye team will help refine your ring in post production services, helping you create the heirloom piece of your dreams.

With all that being said, this design is yours. The rings are designed to be perfectly imperfect. We encourage you to embrace flaws and love the designs as they emerge through your hands.

  • We do not allow returns or exchanges to be made of your handmade rings. These pieces are designed to be perfectly imperfect, made with your own two hands. There is such beauty in that. We encourage you to let go of expectations and love the ring as it evolves and for what it becomes.
